The Program
The Program consists of
- 1 year of clinical training
- 2 years of clinical research with experienced mentor
- Trainees will obtain a Masters degree in epidemiology
- Trainees will be eligible for certification in General Vascular Medicine by the ABVM
Clinical Year
Trainees will also have an active vascular clinic. Clinical rotations are describe as follows: the first will be in cardiovascular medicine, the second will be in vascular surgery, the third will be in non-invasive diagnostics laboratory, and the fourth will be in vascular imaging. The last six weeks of the year will be allotted for elective time in the trainee’s choice of clinical situations. Trainees will learn about all forms of arterial, venous, and lymphatic diseases.
The education experience is greatly enhanced by a multitude of clinical and research conferences. Clinical conferences include vascular medicine, vascular surgery, and several multidisciplinary conferences. Research conferences range from clinical research to vascular biology.
